Do You Like Yourself ?

白山4

Many people wonder what obsesses me, what god has to do with me, or what kind of person my guardian spirit is. They care a lot about those things. Some people are proud of themselves saying my guardian god is so and so. But, no matter what obsesses you, you are nothing more than a human in this society of the World of Reality.

  • have to do with A Aと関係がある
  • be proud of A Aを誇りに思う
  • so and so 何々
  • nothing more than A Aに過ぎない
  • human 人間
  • society 社会

Once you were born, you can never avoid getting old, falling ill, and dying alone, no matter how rich you are or how high your social status is. Everyone is to die equally. Nothing can be done about it.

  • get old 年を取る
  • Nothing can be done.

But seeing a person who appears to be living a happy life or those fortunate, you might think they are guarded by some special god. And you are apt to think better of gods worshiped outside, rather than your ancestors who seem unreliable.

  • live a ~life 〜な生活を送る
  • fortunate 幸運な
  • be apt to~ 〜しがちである
  • think better of A Aの方がよいと考える
  • rather than A Aよりもむしろ

But, most of the benefit gained in this world which people expect is given by virtue of their ancestors or good Karma made by themselves. Righteous gods never back or interfere with individual benefit.

  • most of A Aの中の大部分
  • interfere with A Aに干渉する
  • individual 個人の

In spite of the fact that human beings have received their own inherent god in trust, they don’t notice it nor do they pay attention to it. Instead, they are fond of a god that exists in name only outside or one that realizes greedy desires without knowing the truth. And they call some beings coming from outside and obsessing them guardian gods or guardian spirits, and adore them. This is a sad thing, and it is a useless treasure(=inherent god).

  • in spite of A Aにも関わらず
  • fact 事実
  • receive A in trust Aを預かる
  • pay attention to A Aに注意を払う
  • be fond of A Aを好んでいる
  • in name only 名前だけで
  • call A B AをBと呼ぶ
  • adore 憧れる
  • sad 悲しい
  • useless 無駄な
  • treasure 宝

If you hold a memorial service for your ancestors only with gratitude and express gratitude everyday to the god existing in your heart as a conscience, the true happiness that never fades will come to you.

In order to have the inherent god grow large so that you can realize it, there is one condition. It is “to like yourself.” A person who doesn’t like him/herself are anxious to worship gods outside him/her with their inherent god confined to mind. Religious groups up till now have used this tendency. They make people hate themselves and lose their confidence by emphasizing human’s weakness, impurity, and sins. And they bind up people’s minds by making them worship gods outside themselves deeply .

  • in order to~ 〜するために
  • so that S+V SがVするように
  • condition 条件
  • be anxious to~ 〜したがる
  • cofine A to B AをBに閉じ込める
  • up till now 今までの
  • bind up A Aを縛る

When you visit a shrine functioning rightly, you will get a feeling according to how big your inherent god is. If you like yourself, you will feel warmth coming from the worship hall. On the other hand, if you don’t like yourself, you feel severity or fear from it even in the same shrine. A shrine is a mirror reflecting your mind. God exists in your heart.

  • according to A Aに従って
  • warmth 暖かさ
  • worship hall 拝殿
  • on the other hand 一方
