Don’t escape. Live to the very end.

When things go wrong, we humans are apt to seek divine favor or depend on someone else who pretends that he/she can make your dream happen or someone who you think can do it. This is an escape from the problem. We tend to think that it is impossible or too hard for us to get over our problems no matter how hard we try, so we often go so far as to try to resort to a mysterious means.

  • be apt to~ 〜しがちである
  • get over A Aを乗り越える
  • go so far as to~ 〜しさえする
  • resort to A Aに訴える
  • means 手段

Everything happening around you in this world has its cause. Your surroundings, health, job, relationships, and food are far from accidental. It is just difficult to ascribe the present phenomena to their causes in the past. Not knowing the cause, you get anxious and lament your unhappiness. And trying to escape from the unfortunate, you try to depend on something invisible.

  • be far from A けっしてAではない
  • accidental 偶然の
  • present 現在の
  • phenomena 現象
  • ascribe A to B Aの原因はBにあるとする

Some phenomena, to be sure,  are attributed to those deeds in the previous life that you don’t know. You may well think “Why me? What have I done to deserve this?” because you don’t remember the cause. But you made up your mind to liquidate your bad karma, and had trouble to transmigrate into this World of Reality.

  • to be sure 確かに
  • have trouble to~ わざわざ〜する

You might think that if we were able to keep the memories of out past lives and recognize them, we could bear the present unhappiness with pleasure. But, if so, we cannot liquidate the karma well enough. In such case, we are going to lead a monotonous life from force of habit and won’t be able to make our soul develop. It will take much more time for you to liquidate your bad karma and as a result you might have to take it again with you to the next life. It is only when you have to live in anxiety toward the unknown future that your true nature is tested and your soul is shocked to be better one. In short, it is important for you to accept everything, good or bad, and not to run away, not to be troubled.

  • bear 耐える
  • with pleasure 喜んで
  • monotonous 単調な
  • from a force of habit
  • as a result 結果的に
  • be troubled 悩む

We have to know how important our deeds we do in this world are in and how much they leave spiritual impression. If you do something wrong, you have to make up for it even after you are reincarnated. Everything you do, good or bad, never fails to fade away. That’s why a life is worth living.

  • deed 行い
  • impression 痕跡
  • make up for A Aの償いをする
  • never fail to~ 必ず〜する
  • That’s why S+V そういうわけでSはVする

If you have done something sinful, all you have to do is do more good things than that. That sins are counterbalanced by good deeds is permitted by the cause-and-effect law. One of the reasons you have to hold a memorial service for your ancestors and practice filial piety is that you can make a great deal of good karma which enables your bad karma to disappear smoothly and relieves its effects. You can offset or decrease your bad karma by doing those things. And helping others by doing something helpful for them offsets your bad karma much more strongly, of course.

  • sinful 罪深い
  • all you have to do is ~ あなたは〜しさえすればよい
  • enable A to~ Aが〜するのを可能にする

If there is a psychic who tells you that he/she can get rid of your bad karma in exchange for money, just say “No way. I don’t wanna give up my long-awaited chance to you.” Others can never remove your karma. And should you have someone do it for you, it follows that you deny your own purpose of coming into this world with great difficulty. It is you who live in this world, not others.

  • psychic 霊能者
  • in exchange for A Aと引き換えに
  • No way とんでもない
  • it follows that…
  • with great difficulty やっとの思いで

No matter what troubles occur, you can enjoy this world if you think of the following words from the bottom of your heart;

  • the following 次の
  • bottom 底
  • occur 起こる

I Ka Shi Te I Ta Da I Te  A Ri Ga To U Go Za I Ma Su.

Thank you so much for keeping us alive.
