The More Spirits Rest in Peace, The More Merciful You Become

森羅万象第6巻 表紙

The Obon Festival Days, corresponding to the Festival for the Dead in the West, are near. Its period is more or less different according to the lunar calendar or the solar one, or the local tradition. I’m not sure about the historical facts about the Obon Festival, but I feel spiritually that the period begins around August 11 and its climax is on August 15, there being time difference each year. Spiritual atmosphere has begun to change since the afternoon of August 10 of last year, .

I feel that some spirits who are distantly related to me and need help but cant’t come close to me usually, have approached me. It’s no good to try to keep them away or avoid them. It’s important to welcome them with gratitude, saying to yourself “Thank you for coming!”

I’m sure they will go away fulfilling their unsatisfied feelings after receiving the smoke of an incense stick I offer in holding memorial services for my ancestors during the Obon Festival Days. The more spirits rest in peace, the more merciful you will be become.

Those spiritual methods have been the mainstream so far that are based on the spiritual principle of eliminating spirits such as exorcism. But, as long as you have the mind to avoid what you don’t like or you want to be happy avoiding such related spirits coming close to you for help, you will never be mentally stable. It’s important for you to think that you want to console the spirits with a big heart and have them rest in peace.  This merciful heart will save yourself after all. A human life is short. What is the point of leading your life with such a merciless heart to eliminate the spirits in trouble? It’s important to enlarge your merciful heart inside.

Also, the more you have a great fear of illness everyday wanting to avoid or escaping from them, the more likely you are to fall ill somehow. This world is really strange. The more you want something, the more it goes away. The more you try to avoid something, the closer it comes to you. So, all you have to do is stop where you are and be grateful for the present situation. Accept those who come to you and do not pursue those who leave you.
