Shakuson gave up his ascetic trainings and couldn’t move emaciated. One day, he was waiting for death in a hazy state lying in the shade of a tree, when a working woman of the lowest social group in the Hindu caste system passed by. At the sight of Shakuson unusually thin and scrawny, she felt very sorry for him. Her job was carrying milk. So if she had spilt milk at all, she could’ve been hit with a whip or the amount of money worthy of the spilt milk would’ve been deducted from her wages.
