What Keeps Depression Away?

I owe what I am to grateful memorial services with the use of Yorishiro(寄り代), a medium for spirits to stay at temporarily, and three incense sticks. I’ve been doing this for about 25 years. If I hadn’t started to do this, my life would be very different.

  • owe A to B AがあるのはBのお陰だ
  • incense stick 線香
  • different 違った

I have a family. I’ve been working for about twenty years without suffering from any disease. I’m so healthy that I can dash 500 meters on a slope every day. However, since I’ve been working on the night shift these days, my sense of time is totally out of touch with the normal one. Time seems to fly so fast. Though a holy spirit has told me about the acceleration of time before, I’m not sure if my present sense of time is due to my work or what the holy spirit told me about. I feel as if I were watching pictures in a fast forward manner.

  • suffer 苦しむ
  • disease 病気
  • slope 坂道
  • acceleration 加速
  • fast forward 早送り

As time accelerates, I look younger and younger. The other day, when I get back home after having my hair cut, my wife said to me “You look like a boy!” lol  Now that I’m way over forty years old, I don’t know if I should be pleased at what my wife said.

  • the other day 先日

  • be pleased 喜ぶ

When I was a high school student, I would often suffer from spiritual problems. Every time I passed by a memorial monument or a crash site, I suffered from depression after I arrived home. I didn’t know how to appease spirits, so I was affected directly by them.

  • every time S+V SがVする度に
  • memorial monument 慰霊碑
  • depression 鬱
  • appease 慰める

When I was in college, I experienced panic disorder several times. This was due to spirit possession. The moment I felt a spirit got on the back of my neck, my limbs got rigid and my heart started pounding. I perceived great icy sadness encroaching on my body as if I was watching myself objectively from above.

Thanks to these experiences, I know how effective grateful memorial services for ancestors is and I can sympathize with readers of this blog suffering from spiritual problems. Now I know that my holy spirit led me to experience these on purpose.

  • thanks to A Aのお陰で
  • lead A to~  Aに〜するよう仕向ける

You may not be so interested in spiritual things nor affected by spirits now, but it is possible that you will suffer in the future ahead, for as the electromagnetic waves from the sun get intense, spirits hiding in your spiritual body can appear on the surface. I feel such people will increase rapidly.

Also, if you’re under the influence of wandering spirits other than ancestral spirits because of the clogging of your spiritual line, you life force, which flows into you from the Primordial Being, will decrease. In this case, your depression is likely to be diagnosed as psychiatric disorder, but it is not cured by medical science in the true sense, for drugs can only make the whole mental activities slow down.

Depression makes you go through hell on earth. Do not even think that you want to experience it because such a mere thought can cause you true depression. If you should feel something is wrong with you, get a hold of yourself. Once you’ve got depressed, all of your efforts are wasted.

  • hell on earth 生き地獄
  • mere 単なる
  • get a hold of A Aをしっかり保つ

If you’ve already have depression,

* Go to the doctor and take medicine at the direction of the doctor.

* Find out what you should be grateful of in your daily lives.

*Drink one litter of hot water a day with o.1 g of sea salt in it.

*Take stretching exercise or light walking exercise.

*Take meals of well-balanced nutrition.

*Clean your room.

*Hold memorial services for your ancestral spirits with the use of three incense sticks. Make sure later that the fire of the incense sticks is out. If you’re afraid to hold a memorial service, you don’t need to.

*Try to be grateful for being kept alive and remind yourself of gratitude toward your ancestors or dead children in everyday life.

These things above are not necessarily what you have to do. Decide what you can do by yourself. Don’t be upset. Look at the situation patiently without haste. Holding grateful memorial services for your ancestors and reminding yourself of gratitude for being kept alive, which make you aware of the starting point of life and death, keep depression away. It will determine your destiny whether you put these into practice or not.

I AM GRATEFUL FOR BEING KEPT ALIVE

Inertia and Habituation Prevent Your Soul from Developing

Human beings, as long as they live, will have troubles and concerns one after another. You may know it’s wise to accept them with gratitude, but soon you’ll find it difficult to do so. However, there is a good solution to it. You have only to think that you may die tomorrow. By doing so, you can clear your mind of trifles and you’ll begin to look for what you have to do now.

  • as long as S+V SがVする限り
  • cancern 心配事
  • one after another 次から次へと
  • have only to~ 〜しさえすればよい

While you’re alive in the World of Reality, you’re influenced by gravitational power preventing your soul from developing, which you can call inertia  or habituation. For example, a lot of people feel stressed about work. Suppose Mr.A is not satisfied with his job and is always complaining. He’s getting sick physically and mentally. Mr.A takes it for granted that he’s got a steady job, getting paid every month. Forgetting this fortune, he has attachment to his job and is suffering with it by himself. What do you think  Mr. B, who has a family and is currently unemployed, would think to know what Mr.A is troubled about?

  • gravitational 重力の
  • prevent A from ~ing Aが〜するのを妨げる
  • take A for granted Aを当たり前に思う
  • attachment 執着
  • currently 現在
  • unemployed 失業中

Or, Ms.C, a housewife, is thoroughly discontented, feeling stressed about his husband and children. She tells Ms.D, who is a friend of hers and has been single for a long time, that she’s getting tired of life. Ms.C has failed to realize how happy she is to have her husband and children. Ms. D envies Ms.C  having her own children.

  • discontented 不満な
  • get tired of A Aにうんざりする

Distress of this kind is all due to inertia and habituation, which make people take everything for granted. To break through the barrier of these, return to the point of origin of life and death in your daily lives. To recall appreciative words “Thank you so much for keeping us alive” in everyday life would make you go back to the point of origin of life and death. Those are strong who can be conscious of death, which reminds them of the breath of the Original God giving birth to them and blows off unimportant problems of social life.

  • due to A Aが原因である
  • the point of origin 原点
  • blow off A Aを吹き飛ばす

However, something you don’t like or feel stressed about still remains. In this World of Reality, where negative gravity dragging you down exists, you need positive gravity, too. The positive gravity, which makes you live positively, is caused by your concrete actions such as holding a memorial service for your ancestors or paying a visit to a shrine.

  • remain 残る
  • gravity 引力
  • drag A down Aを引っぱり落とす
  • pay a vist 訪れる

Etched into the space of the World of Reality, the positive gravity caused by concrete actions has spiritually strong, huge effects, because where you live is the World of Reality, where actions are more important than anything else. Normal people couldn’t move a cup an inch put in front of them by thought. But if you take an action of using your hand, you can easily move it. This world is a dimension where actions are much more important than  thought.

The reason why sacred places like Geku(外宮) of Ise Grand Shrine(伊勢神宮) or Izougu(伊雑宮)exist in this World of Reality is that they are necessary for the earth and people. The accumulation of efforts of people concerned has enabled such sacred shrines to exist. Holy spirits come where people take the act of worshipping. What is great about Japanese Shinto is that it has existed for thousands of years despite the lack of teachings biding people. Behind anything that has existed for thousands of years left to people’s autonomy, not by compulsion is the silent will of the Original Being. Visiting such a sacred place sometimes may be one of the important actions as an event of life.

  • sacred 神聖な
  • accumulation 蓄積
  • effort 努力
  • enable A to~ Aが〜するのを可能にする
  • holy 神聖な
  • worshipping 崇拝
  • lack 欠如
  • teachings 教義
  • bind 縛る
  • autonomy 自主性
  • compulsion 強制
  • silent 無言の
  • will 意思
