How Foreigners Hold a Memorial Service for Ancestors

In terms of the spirit world, I’ve considered how a person with a foreign surname hold memorial services for ancestors, such as a Japanese woman who’s changed her surname to that of her foreign husband, a foreign family who’s become naturalized as a Japanese one or a Japanese woman who’s got married to a foreign man but still has her surname different from his.

  • in terms of A Aの観点から

Firstly, if you’re a Japanese woman who has a foreign surname, you can write her foreign name in the foreign language or in katakana characters on Tanzaku, a kind of cardboard for spirits to stay at temporarily. Because a memorial service is held through the doer’s brain in a way, an understandable language is good.

Secondly, if you’re a Japanese woman who has a different surname from that of your foreign husband, you should use her husband’ surname in holding a memorial service. When a couple uses their own surname separately, they can’t become one spiritually. They couldn’t feel like a family and troubles between them would never stop happening. Using husband’s surname produces harmony between married couples. The third incense stick you offer in a memorial service can take care of your own ancestors of the previous family line and other spirits related to you.

The word “Place” you write on Tanzaku is important, so write it in the language you feel best. “Place” means the location where spirits stay, so translate it into your language meaning “location” or “place” and write the word. When you hold a memorial service, you make use of your brain wave, and therefore the language of your own choosing is the best. When you show gratitude to your ancestors, use the words of your country meaning “gratitude for being kept alive.” The words do act on the spirits.

  • translate 翻訳
  • make use of A Aを利用する
  • keep A alive Aを生かしておく
  • act on A   Aに作用する

The reason why the language you feel the best is important is that by holding the spiritual ritual the doer’s thought and mental energy turns into magnetism that practically consoles spirits and the magnetism is etched into space. In this respect, if the doer wonders if the language is OK, the amount of the magnetism reaching spirits decreases.

  • ritual 儀式
  • turn into A Aに変わる
  • refer

If you’re not a Japanese, use the following illustrations as reference. The size of Tanzaku is about 30 centimeters tall. You can choose the language and the way you write it.

worship_cross

  1. Cross-type: you write the words meaning “The Place for My Ancestors’ Spirits” from left to right.
  2. Vertically-long type: you use Tanzaku made in Japan if possible. If you understand Japanese, write “The Place for The So and So s’ Ancestral Spirits” in katanaka characters or Chinese characters.

Use a stiff white cardboard and write the words boldly with a black or golden felt-tip pen so that your ancestral spirits can come close easily. Tanzaku must be thick (2mm is the best). Corrugated paper is not suitable due to its hollowness. If you can get only a colored cardboard, attach a white paper to the surface. Or if you make Tazanku out of some pieces of paper, you can use glue made of rice. Natural materials are easy for spirits to approach. Tanzaku must be stood up. Fix it with the a Tanzaku stand (you can make it out of two small notched wooden blocks).

As for the cross-type Tanzaku, I’m not conscious of Christianity. The reason I suggest the form is that, when I visited Izawa-no-miya(伊雑宮) of Ise Grand Shrine(伊勢神宮), I  saw the holy energy spiritually and clearly and received the revelation saying “I’ll change the vertical flows to the horizontal ones.” The Sun God that gave it to me is the super-ancient God that had much to do with the creation of human beings and has spiritual effects on people in foreign countries as well as Japan. Also, you can write the words on Tanzaku from top to bottom in katakana characters of Chinese characters. Or you can do it in a foreign language from left to right using two lines and then stand up the Tanzaku.

  • as for A Aに関して言えば
  • Christianity

Lastly, in the case you’re a foreigner who has naturalized as a Japanese and changed your surname, use the new name in holding memorial services if you has just become naturalized and no relative has died recently.  There is no problem in it because the third incense stick can take care of your ancestors with a foreign name. In this case, however, if you feel no effectiveness of the memorial services and feel concerned about your ancestors, you can get another Tanzaku and hold a memorial service using your previous name and then the present name.

  • lastly 最後に
  • relative 親戚
  • effectiveness 効果

You can also prepare two bowls for incense sticks and put them side by side with a little space between them. Or you can hold memorial services using the previous foreign surname at first and later can change the name to the present one. Try some ways according to circumstances. You can decide which way to choose according to your level of understanding of Ise-Hakusan Dou. There’ll be no spiritual problem as long as the Tanzaku is put stably.

  • side by side 並べて
  • as long as S+V SがVする限り

We humans are all connected to our ancestral spirits and live together with them. All spirits, no matter where they are, will be pleased to be shown compassion and gratitude by their descendants. Memorial services held by the method of Ise-Hakusan Dou do have practical effects on ancestral spirits across countries, peoples, religions and cultures.

  • connect 繋ぐ
  • be pleased 嬉しい

Ignore the “God” or ” Buddha” You See When You’re Tired

The other day, a man in his seventies and I patrolled my neighborhood at night as an activity of the neighborhood association. We waled about three kilometers. At first, I care about his walking pace but it turned out that I didn’t have to. Looking at his sneakers, I found that he walked a lot everyday. He had a good posture.

It is said that aging begins with legs. I often see some young men these days traipsing around with his pants being taken down to his waste. I thought I wanted to be like the old man, so I asked him questions about the food he ate, walking with him. Predictably, he said he ate small amount of vegetable, fish and rice, adding that they were a feast for him.

When he was in his growth period, he was truly in starved state because of the war. Living in the city, he was lacking in food. I thought that the lack of nutrition during a growth period doesn’t affect physical bodies in late years. Despite the lack of food more or less, people might have no problem as long as they are mentally healthy.

By the way, many of the people often possessed by spirits tend to have a weak body. For example, such people are apt to depend on spiritual healers mentally and physically, so that spiritual dirt of the healers, others in terms of genes, is attached to their body and as the result they become sickly later. As for an accurate fortune-teller, he/she tells a fortune by getting possessed with a spirit. So his/her clients are likely to fall sick in their late years.

When you have a feeble body due to the lack of nutrition or are extremely tired mentally, you’re easily controlled by spirits or affected by other spiritual beings. As you get starve, you will see hallucination. This is because when your body gets weak, spiritual magnetism of a spirit affects your body. Some people might say that their physical body has become strong after their spiritual body got weak, but this is a big mistake.

In a Buddhist sect, there is a ascetic training of making believers starve, depriving them of sleep and making them tired physically for the purpose of seeing Buddha. In this training, it is important to find out whether the Buddha a believer saw is true or false. The believer explains what he saw to an experienced person and asks for the judgement. The details are top secret. They are never told even among practitioners of austerities. In light of my spiritual experiences, I think that the judgement is based on an explanation of the lower half of the body of what he saw. You can’t make the judgement based on its face.

If you see “God” or “Buddha” when your body are mind are tired, you had better ignore it. When you’re in goof condition physically and mentally, you don’t see any strange beings, and you’ll just be grateful to everything in everyday life, when you’re touching the highest spiritual being without any visible form. This is the highest state of Kannagara, or being with God. In short, to see ghosts or demons would mean that you are far from enlightenment because your mind is still so low a level as to tune in to such low-level spiritual beings.

Warning by God against Cannibalism

When I had dinner with a doctor who studied hereditary diseases, a topic of AIDS came up. According to him, researches on ancient remains of a race with a custom of cannibalism, or eating humans, and on its descendants show that they suffered from strange immune diseases just like AIDS. He assumes that if humans begin to eat each other they are programmed to die out by God because of immunologic abnormality . He said “the protein is the key to understanding it.”

Taking in food that has the same DNA structure causes harm to human bodies. AIDS, to be sure, is caused by two men with the same male chromosomes having sex. The protein of sperm of a man is absorbed in the other man through his rectum. I think it is the same as cannibalism. Men and women have chromosomes different from each other in arrangement, so normal sex has no problem with protein. As to the cause of AIDS, there are a lot of theories, though.

What I’m concerned about is genetically modified seeds and fertilizer. When a bug eats a plant whose genes are modified so that it can produce a particular protein, the bag dies. Animals and humans eat such genetically modified plants everyday. It can be said in this sense that beef is composed of such genetically modified plants. I feel that modifying protein is against natural laws. Problems of chemical fertilizers will take form next year (2009) due to international export restrictions of them. We are going to be more and more dependent on the chemical fertilizers with unknown side effects.

However, if you begin to worry about it too much, you cannot eat anything. When I take a trip, I myself will be eating various such foods. I think I have no choice but to accept such a social trend. But it’s important to know the problem. With the knowledge, you’d make a different choice in eating out. My gut is telling me that you had better avoid beef when you eat at a low-priced restaurant. In light of the vibration frequency of the earth and food situations, it is advisable to avoid beef. If you want very much to eat meat, why don’t you eat quality pork or chicken in small amount? I don’t say you must not eat any meat, but the quality of meat is important. I think cheap imported beef will cause your digestive organs such as bowels to breed. If you eat too much meat, you might have bloody stools for a few days.

There are Various Levels of Holy Spirits

All gods originate from one being. This one being branched off into numerous gods. You can call the being whatever you like, but all the efforts will be in vain. Having named the being carelessly is the cause of conflicts all over the world. It is something fundamental with no name. If I dare to describe what it is like, all I can say is that it is formless and full of love.

  • in vain 無駄に

A part of this fundamental being diverged and multiplied. Each energy bodies got together according to their characteristics to form a universe. I feel the fundamental being branched off into roughly three lines, from which what we call gods originate. This process is described in Kojiki(古事記), Japan’s oldest historical record, and a lot of Western myths hint it as well. Each energy body made its own dimensional space in the universe, in which there are a lot of dimensional stages.

The farther an energy body is from the fundamental being, the more clearly its characteristics appear and it begins to be “self-assertive.” People called the energy body various names according to its character. Lower level energy bodies have its own form and individuality. So if you see a holy spirit like a human, it must be one residing in a world near the World of Reality. I call such spiritual beings personal gods. They are the ones very far from the fundamental being.

Because of its closeness to the World of Reality, personal gods have a stronger power to bring about benefits we wish for or miracles than the fundamental being. In short, personal gods are not high in spirituality but have a strong influence on the World of Reality.

  • bring about A Aを引き起こす

The fundamental being is ubiquitous and exists right here, right now. You and I are a part of the fundamental being. Nature, stars and everything as far as you can see are manifestations of the fundamental being. Therefore it cannot interfere with nor favor each individual. In the eyes of the fundamental being, everything is perfectly fair.

  • interfere with A   Aに干渉する
  • fair 公平な

Personal gods have their own name. But most of the names are nothing but phonetic equivalents representing their character and features. Their true names have been hidden. When you say the true name, your voice becomes Kotodama(言霊), or a soul of words, and its holy magnetism comes close to you. To say it in fun would have an adverse effect on you. Once you’ve conjured up the magnetism, it’s difficult to have it go back.

  • nothing but A Aでしかない
  • conjure up A Aを呼び出す

Whenever I describe a figure or form of a god, I add “when it appears as a personal god.”  The word “god” is open to misunderstanding because sometimes it refers to a higher being with no figure or form and at other times it refers to an individualistic lower being with a humanlike character and features.

  • be open to A Aを招きやすい
  • misunderstanding 誤解
  • refer to A Aを指す

Just as there are various dimensions and stages about holy spirits, there are various levels of psychics. They can only see according to their spiritual ability. When a dimension is beyond the spiritual ability of a psychic, the psychic can see nothing. So they argue against each other sometimes.

  • just as S+V SがVするように
  • ability 能力
  • argue against A  Aを非難する

Many psychics pretend that they have a great spiritual ability, but they are just showing others their own self-absorbed world view. They can’t propose any concrete way to lead people morally. With psychics being like this, what should suffering people do?

  • world view 世界観

They do nothing but make suffering people confused and can’t show any solutions to their problems. They are irresponsible and worst and have strong jealousy against others and adhere to making money. If you observe what they say and their point of view, you’ll know what they’re jealous and afraid of. Who is right will be judged by a third person who practices the method. If you do the right thing, you will keep on doing it naturally.

It is a hundred percent wrong to receive money from suffering people as a consultation fee or make them buy some expensive things. True gods would never support such deeds. But you have to remember that this is different from paying to have a shinto priest pray to God. It is oblation to have a shinto priest, especially at Ise Grand Shrine, pray to God. This means your offering to God thankful shinto prayers and shrine maiden’s ceremonial dance. It is one thing to ask a favor of God and it is another to offer gratitude to God.

  • expensive 効果な

Humans and Holy Spirits Have a Different View on Happy Marriage

I’m often asked by a reader if his or her betrothed is a right person. Asking me such a question means that the person, or those around them, must feel anxious about his/her marriage or have some problem to worry about.

  • betrothed 婚約者
  • anxious 心配な

As you hold memorial services for your ancestors in the right way, unnecessary magnetism you receive from spirits related to you decreases. So, when you make an important decision, things will go well somehow or when you decline to do something, you can make up your mind easily.

  • go well うまくいく

Also, you won’t feel any regret or have any doubt about the consequence of your decision. You’ll come to accept everything positively. As you hold thankful memorial services for your ancestors, everything you need will be given to you if it’s necessary.

Everyone wishes for a happy marriage. Humans and holy spirits have quite different views on happiness. The sense of happiness will also be different from person to person. Some people make much of money or sexual relationship and others consideration for others or thought. A happy marriage depends on what you think happiness is.

  • wish for A  Aを望む
  • view 見解
  • from person to person 人によって
  • make much of A Aを重要視する

Whatever you think about happiness, there’s one thing you have to remember: in this World of Reality, where physical bodies proceed to death everyday, everything is changing and so is what you think at first, no matter what you make much of and how much you make arrangements. So if you think too much of conditions before marriage, you’re likely to repent later.

In the spirit world, deities of husband and wife often appear to be an old couple who have grey hair and very old. Why do they appear to be very old? There is a God’s will there. Most old couples have already lost desire for money or freedom of their physical bodies and take care of each other. There are no conditions or stratagems between them. In this sense, the best marriage partner may be the one you can live together with even if you’ve lost everything.

  • gray hair 白髪
  • snuggle up to A Aに寄り添う

Well, since you don’t know your betrothed well before marriage, it’s important for you to run a simulation dispassionately. For example, if he is much older than you, you have to imagine what your marriage life will be like in twenty years. If she has children, you have to think whether you can get along well with them.

Also, you have to think about the relationship with the other’s parents or siblings. Or when he falls sick or loses his job, you have to ask yourself whether you’re determined to support him. If you can make up your mind to accept all these difficulties, you will feel less anxious about the marriage.

  • be determined to~ 〜する決心をしている

As you can have gratitude for the present situations and feel happy for just being kept alive, you’ll come to be able to respect your marriage partner. You could forgive your disagreeable husband or nagging wife, couldn’t you?

The Way to the Mind of God

There have been a lot of ways or methods to seek for God since ancient times. But most of them are depending on a thing outside of yourself, not inside of your heart.

  • seek for A Aを探し求める
  • ancient times 古代
  • depend 頼る

To search for God outside of yourself involves a lot of risks. You could end up spending a lot of time, energy and money over many years and when you look back on you life, you would regret what you did, thinking “Was this faith right?” It’s a shame that you realize what you did after spending so many precious years. You could learn a lesson from the experience, of course, but it’s still regrettable for you to realize it after wasting such precious things.

People who are in the middle of believing in something outside of themselves often say that they received benefits and they’re happy now. However, no matter how happy they are now, they don’t know what will become of them in the future, what will happen in the end. In short, you can’t be sure if your faith is right or wrong unless you spend a long time. This is like gambling. Will your faith lead you to God or Devil? Every religion will say only good things. After all, to search outside of yourself for God would is to gamble.

  • benefit 利益」

Well, what is the faith leading to God without any risk? Seek for the way to Inner God inside yourself by tracing the spiritual cord of your ancestors. Inner God inside your heart leads to the Original God. If you do so, you’re sure to feel the true, great God in your heart instead of a personal god, when you will experience an absolute sense of security in the face of this World of Reality.

As you continue holding thankful memorial services for your ancestors, the spiritual chord of your ancestors leading to God will be clearer and clearer, and you’ll find that your sense of security is different from what it used to be. Fortunate things to be thankful for will actually happen to you. It might be that you come to realize what you have been taking for granted is actually a fortune thing. But anyway you’ll begin to know what the true happiness is.

As you practice the thankful memorial services for your ancestors, you’ll come to sympathize with the holy spirit inside yourself and have a chance to visit a shrine where an outer god related to your Inner God resides for the purpose of offering gratitude. Interaction between you and God will begin.

Seek for Inner God inside yourself and offer gratitude to an outer god courteously. Holding memorial services for your ancestors is the safest and fastest way to reach God. By doing so, you can trace back to God with the use of the spiritual chord of your ancestors influencing you most.

This method comprises gratitude for being kept alive and the old spiritual essence of Yorishiro(寄り代)which has existed since ancient times. Yorishiro is an esoteric technique of ancient shinto and forms the basis of its secret rituals. In holding a memorial service for your ancestors, you are conjuring your ancestral spirits to the tanzaku(短冊), a strip of Japanese paper, or the memorial tablet. This method has a strong practical power because you’re making use of the spiritual cord of your family line which has a very strong influence on you. Recent occult methods are all infantile and can’t even compete with this one.

If you’ve made up your mind positively to hold memorial services to express your thanks to your ancestors, whether or not you experience discomfort in the process of your spiritual dirt being eliminated, keep on doing it at ease. You can also prepare yourself for the purification of the spiritual light of the sun in the years to come. Normally, you won’t feel any discomfort in holding it. Most of you will feel warm at heart. Your Conscience and Ancestral Spirits Never Betray You

Visiting a website, I’m often led by my kenzoku-shin , a kind of guardian spirit, to visit another. I get a lot of information from my readers, too. Some websites are very dangerous. For example, there is a website trying to meet the visitors directly with the purpose of swindling them,  a website of a psychic or healer who tries to meet a female visitor to assault her sexually and spiritually, a website with the purpose of both and so on.

My kenzoku-shin, working under God, makes me see such bad deeds to inform me that there are such evil people in society these days. The owner of the website was advertising remote healing. According to him, the healing costs 20000 yen every time and a client has to take it several times. The client pays the money without seeing the face of the owner, expecting the effect one-sidedly.

The client doesn’t know that the owner only makes her transfer the money and do nothing. He is thinking that he can deceive her by e-mail saying he is supporting her spiritually. He has female customers send her picture first and if she is his type, he tries to meet her directly seeing the reaction of her. The owner had such an awful appearance that I wanted to say to him “Are you OK? You’d better go to the hospital before pretending and advertising that you can cure diseases.” That’s why he was advertising the remote healing, which doesn’t need to show his face.

Once he succeeds in winning a female repeater, he has her send her whole body picture with excuses. If the women is his type, he tries to meet her, saying “You’re my special client, so I’ll give you a meeting session.” He charges her a lot more money than a remote healing and brainwashes her into having sex with him. If such women wake up from the brainwashing, a lot of problems arise. They can have skin diseases due to spiritual dirt as well as being swindled of her money. Or they can suffer from venereal infection from the evil healer. When complaints against him increase, he shuts down the website suddenly and changes the place where he meets his clients. In the case of such a website owner being a woman, it is likely that she sells expensive spiritual merchandise half-forcibly. She makes her client buy expensive spiritual goods threatening her well.

If these kinds of web owners close their websites, they start up the same kind of business again on the Internet using a different name. Such people will increase in number as the economy cools down. It is difficult to earn as much as 20000 yen a day in the real world. What they do is the same as a skillful remittance fraud. If the owner is a good-looking but bud guy and repeats the business in a skillful manner which doesn’t appear to be a crime, the number of victims will increase much more.

Those who call themselves a healer and advertise remote healing or meeting sessions are a hundred percent corrupt. There’s no exception. It is because they have fallen into the Devildom that they can do such a thing. Righteous gods would never help their business. Genuine healers never accept money nor need advertising. There are some self-appointed healers who insist that they can take on bad karma of clients in exchange for money, but this is nothing more than a deceptive logic. Brainwashed persons would say the healing was effectual. But if this is so, this is actually thanks to their ancestors, which is a fortunate case. Otherwise, their life span would be shortened in exchange for immediate improvement caused by a spiritual being behind the evil healer.

With the reduction of the World of the Dead due to the spiritual light of the sun, simple frauds unrelated to any spiritual being seem to be increasing. It will be more and more important for you to believe in your conscience(=Inner God) and your ancestral spirits only. They never betray you until the very end of your life. They will accompany you to the other world. This is what Shaka said just before he died, “Turn to your own light.”
