Smoke of Incense Sticks has the Power to Cut off Negative Magnetism

In my opinion, bad dreams are phenomena that happen instead of the realization of them. I think that bad dreams are not to be realized in the World of Reality and their negative energy is sublimated in the dreams. For example, if you have a bad dream of a car crash, you will drive more carefully or stop driving for a while. As the result, you can avoid a car accident. If you have a good dream, on the other hand, you might make more effort so as to realize the dream, which may make it happen.

  • on the other hand 一方
  • effort 努力

There is a good way to prevent bad dreams from happening intentionallyーholding thankful memorial services for your ancestral spirits with the use of three incense sticks. Holding such a memorial service every day, even for a couple of minutes, generates magnetism of gratitude, and this magnetism counteracts accumulated negative energy. The simple action of a few minutes in the morning like this can offset what otherwise would happen later that day. Magnetism of gratitude does neutralize accumulated negative magnetism.

Smoke of incense sticks is very effective not only for appeasing ancestral spirits but also for cutting off negative magnetism. It’s more effective than salt. My impression is that “cutting ” or “cutting off”  is more suitable expression than “purifying.” Spiritual magnetism, or ectoplasm, looks like smoke. It differs in color and subtlety according to its dimensional level and content. I perceive that the spiritual magnetism of holy spirits, for example, has a certain color and consists of fine particles, while that of low-level evil spirits feels damp and sticky.

  • cut off A  Aを切断する
  • impression 印象
  • subtlety 精妙さ
  • dimension 次元
  • consist 成る

Spiritual magnetism and smoke of incense sticks are so similar in complexion and physical matter that the smoke can have a strong influence on spiritual magnetism. The smoke can give comfort or solace to your ancestral spirits or other spirits related to you and counteracts negative spiritual magnetism.

I know various kinds of methods to corp with evil spirits, whose spiritual magnetism is negative,  but the use of incense sticks is one of the most effective methods for repelling them. This is derived from a secret ceremony of Taoism and very effective in cutting off a target. Incantations or prayers can’t match the power of smoke of incense sticks. One of the reasons that the successive Imperial Families have adopted Taoism in performing rites is that an Emperor who first adopted it was very surprised at the effectiveness of smoke of incense sticks.

The secret ritual with the use of incense sticks is not performed in modern shintoism. But incense sticks used to be used at rituals in the past when Taoism was introduced in shintoism.  I feel the secret ritual was passed down to the Imperial House and became the origin of Kodo(香道), the cult of incense-burning. In Taoism, long incense sticks are still used in performing rituals.

  • pass down A Aを伝える
  • origin 起源

The essence of my personal method of holding the memorial service with the use of incense sticks lies in spiritual phrases and the timing of saying them. While you’re holding a memorial service, great things are happening in the other world you cannot see. The smoke of the third incense stick for other spirits related to you keeps you away from negative spiritual magnetism of evil spirits and erases your own negative magnetism.

  • the other world あの世
  • keep A away from B AをBから遠ざける

However hard you try to cover up your own bad things, you can’t bring good fortune as long as you keep it inside. The World of Reality is where you get something with a struggle. Running away from reality gets you nowhere. I don’t recommend my personal method to anyone, especially those who lack the will to practice it on their own, because it can have adverse effect on such people. The holy spirit helps those spiritually who try to help themselves and others gratuitously.

Secret of North Star

Though I’ve been writing about North Star many times since I began to write this blog in May 2007, I have avoided referring to its color as a big secret. However, I think it’s time to write about it.

  • avoid 避ける
  • refer to A Aに言及する

Every time I visit Geku(外宮) of Ise Grand Shrine(伊勢神宮), I perceive it to be the sacred place where North Star and North Dipper Seven Stars have been worshipped. At Geku can you see Ameno-minaka-nushi-no-kami (天之御中主神), or Ohkuni-tokotachi-oh-kami(大国常立常太神)in the form of North Star of the present century. Geku is where the spiritual vibration that produces life and keeps them alive is pouring down.

  • every time S+V SがVする度に

So when I visit Geku, I get visions of North Star and North Dipper Seven Stars in my mind. The color of the star corresponding to North Star is different from those of the other stars, which are shining white. North Star is light greenish blue or Paris green.

The companion star of North Star, or Alcor, is also light greenish blue.  I feel it’s related to the world after death. That is, North Star produces life, while Alcor controls death. There is a mechanism in the universe that pairs of yin and yang produce and develop everything.

It takes a long time for stars to become North Star by turns. I feel that a star coming in the center of the universe changes its color from white to light greenish blue. When North Star changes, the land of the earth that receives the energy from North Star is also changed. In Japan, as of present, it’s the region situated between Ise and Mt.Hakusan(白山). With the change of North Star, the region where the light of creation pours down changes. Nara, Kyoto, Izumo used to be a place like that.

  • as of present 現在では
  • region 地方

Ancient civilizations in foreign countries also developed on the lands that received the energy of North Star. As North Star changes, nations and regions where civilizations rise change. The movement and replacement of North Star means the change of the universe that the Fundamental Being expresses.

The color of North Star is not visible with an astronomical telescope. It’s the image in my mind. It’s interesting that a lot of buried properties in ancient times have the same color. Ancient people must’ve thought of North Star as the center of the universe, too. I feel that they regarded the color, which they saw spiritually, as the one showing nobleness and tried to expresse it on articles.

The idea of worshipping North Star and its color traces back to Taoism in ancient China. I can feel even now that Taoism had a strong influence on Ise Grand Shrine in the age of Emperor Temmu(天武天皇). The soul of Lao-tzu(老子), who is the founder of Taoism and has been worshipped as God in China, came from North Star at that time.

  • trace back to A Aに遡る

I want to name the nine stars “North Dipper Nine Stars” :North Star, North Dipper Seven Stars and Alcor. These nine stars represents the whole universe and the universe in microcosm. They have practical effects on the earth and societies.

  • name A B AをBと名付ける
  • represent 表す

And it is Hakusan-Kukuri-hime-oh-kami(白山ククリヒメ大神) who controls North Dipper Nine Stars. The name is not just a name for one goddess. It also shows both a state of other gods being controlled by her and children of the future, for all human beings have gods inside. There are a lot of gods on this planet, aren’t there?

The Secret of Kagome Song having Predicted Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake Disaster

“Enclose, enclose

When will the bird in the cage get out of it?

At dawn, still in the dark, a crane and a turtle slipped.

Who is it that stands behind?”

Though there are already a lot of spiritual interpretations of this children’s song, I’m going to write my own spiritual reading about it.

What I see first is a scene of a port at Kobe(神戸) about a hundred years ago. A powerful guru of Taoism from Hong Kong, under the auspices of an industrialist of trading business, came to Kobe to make into a citizen. He could perceived the current of magnetism, called “Dragon Path(龍道)”,  flowing from Hakusan(白山) region far away at the rear through the direction of Awaji Islnad on a global scale. He seems to have suggested to an influential person that he should make use of the terrestrial magnetism for the development of Kobe, and have him carry it out. As the result of it, Kobe port grew much bigger.

Time passed and the redevelopment of Kobe began in the 1980s with the economy bubbling. Kobe was an important city in the previous civilization of ancient times. There are a lot of remains related to the holy spirit there like Kabuto Yama(甲山)and they began to be destroyed due to the redevelopment in Showa era. Some of the buildings and roads the guru put to dam up and seal up the terrestrial magnetism were also destroyed.

With various spiritual factors occurring simultaneously, the collapse of the blockage of the Dragon Path, which had been flowing from Hakusan to Awaji Island for a long time , caused it to open up. And due to the reaction to the accumulation of energy that lasted for more than 100 years, the energy flowed back to Kobe from Awaji Island with a single swoop. The current of magnetism of Dragon Path circulates, so one round trip makes one cycle. And then Hanshin-Awaji(阪神淡路) Earthquake disaster occurred “at dawn, still in the dark.”

I see the writer of Kagome Uta is an ancient shintoist, Mr. Arafuka Michinari(荒深道済). He was observing all the situation about hundred years ago, when the guru began to influence the Dragon Path at Kobe, and got a vision that this interference would trigger off a big earthquake in the future and left the message as a song. I assume that the reason that it spread among people all over Japan as a children’ song was because of God’s will.

“The bird in the cage” in the song is a secret language and a bird stands for “the holy spirit.” Chickens are taken good care of in the sacred place in Ise Grand Shrine(伊勢神宮), too, for example. As for “Enclose, enclose…in the cage,” this refers to the area.

  1. Because of Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake disaster, the Dragon Path between Awaji Island and Mt.Hakusan was opened up.
  2. Because of Noto Peninsula(能登半島) Earthquake disaster, the Dragon Path between Mt.Hakusan and Ise was opened up.
  3. When the Dragon Path between Ise and Awaji Island is opened up at last, the dragon of a big triangle among Awaji Island, Mt.Hakusan and Ise is completed.

When will the big earthquake mentioned above occur? I’m not sure. All I can do is watch the movement of a great ground dragon(大地龍), a subordinate deity of Kunitokotachiohkami(国常立太神). There are eight great ground dragons in the world at present. When a turmoil occurred at Chibet in China last month (March, 2008), the 14th Dalai Lama prayed for the coming of a great ground dragon and it rose to the surface from the depth of the earth. Its head is now directed toward Beijing.

In Japan, a great ground dragon exists in the depth of the ground in Tokai region, but it still doesn’t seem to move between Ise and Awaji Island. Its head is also directed toward Beijing somehow.

Since my book “The Road to Inner God” (内在神への道)was published, it has been easier and easier to calm down the ground dragon thanks to the gratitude of readers of my book as well as that of this blog. Thank you so much for keeping us alive.

Memorial services for yourself is very effective on dissolution of your past trauma.

It is possible for human beings to forget something unbearable you want to forget superficially. But your spiritual body will remember it.

Violence directed against you when you were a child by your relative to depend upon especially remains in your spiritual body deeply. Violence you can talk about with others is no problem. The experience that you were hit by your father to bleed when you did something wrong, for example, can be a good memory after he passes away.

But the kind of violence that you cannot talk about can be a problem. It is memorized as a wound in the magnetism of your spiritual body. The same thing can be said in the case of your social life. So, it is very good mentally and spiritually that you can talk about such an awful experience with others or confess it to others. Because it means that you have already sublimated it in your own way.

In this respect, the custom of confession of Christianity is reasonable. Interesting enough, you can confess it with an animal or a plant. It seems that the Original God has set the default of life so that unless creatures get in touch with each other, their life force will decrease.

  • the Original God 根源神

If you notice your family member or colleague stop chatting or talking positively, you have to worry. It is a sign that he or she is in a mentally tight spot. You have to take care of your conversations to prevent some mental disorder, too.

Even if you have come of age and think you have forgotten some past mental trauma, the memories engraved in your spiritual magnetism can be remembered again without knowing it because of stress you receive in your social life. You cannot not understand the reason why you’re so depressed or sad because you’ve forgotten the past memories. You cannot associate the phenomena with their causes. In an extreme case, self-injurious behaviour such as wrist cutting might begin. I think alcoholism without any clear reason is also an act of self-harm.

  • because of A A のために
  • associate A with B AをBと結びつけて考える

To improve this phenomena fundamentally, you should have the faith to be conscious of God in your heart, and hold memorial services for your ancestors with gratitude, though you might think it takes a long time or think it strange. I believe this is the shortest way to improve mental problems naturally and solve them.

You can suppress symptoms by drug therapy, but there are side effects that do harm to your health. So I recommend that you practice holding memorial services for your ancestors, drink a lot of tepid water and do some exercise together with a little drug therapy. If you do this, you will be OK without any drug. Ideally, it is best not to take drugs from the beginning.

Spiritually speaking, there are two cases like the following:

1. There are some negative wounds in your spiritual body because of trauma inflicted by others.

2. Though you don’t have any traumatic experience, you’re covered with magnetism of dissatisfaction of your ancestral spirits related to you.

Regarding to 1, you should say ” Thank you so much for keeping YOUR NAME alive” several times  after holding a memorial service for your ancestors. Or when you have free time, after three incense sticks have burnt out, you should put an incense stick and say the same thing many times while the incense stick is burning. This is a memorial service for you, and can heal spiritual wounds of your past. Fire of incense sticks can burn the negative, spiritual magnetism.

  • regarding to A Aに関して
  • incense stick 線香
  • heal 癒やす

Also, if you have any mental disease, growing up plants is also good. If the mental disease is serious, you should water plants everyday and raise them. To raise living things is to raise your heart.

As for 2, as your spiritual body is sublimed by holding memorial services with three incense sticks, the symptoms will be improved. But don’t expect for the result hastily. If you hurry, you’ll have an unnecessary clinging mind. It’s important you practice this steadily, living a social life.

  • expect for A Aを期待する
  • hastily 急いで
  • clinging mind 依存心
  • steadily 着実に

Spiritual magnetism (= ectoplasm)looks like smoke at a glance. You can neutralize magnetism of anxiety by fragrant smoke. Some self-appointed psychics make light of the effects of smoke of incense sticks, which proves that they don’t have any ability to grasp spiritual reality.

  • at a glance 一目では
  • make light of A Aを軽視する

Taoism is very spiritual, practical teachings, which has affected Ise Grand Shrine and the Imperial Household. Smoke cannot have any influence on deities, but it does have huge influence on spirits. Smoke is valued in Taoism more than in Japan. Smoke of incense sticks plays a role of connecting deities to spirits.

about role of incense sticks

Many of the readers of this blog might have questions about the origin of incense sticks and its meaning.  Checking them up, I found out that the origin of incense stick goes back to the age of Buddha. It wan not like an artificially molded one like the present incense stick. It seems that there  been a custom in India of preventing body odor, keeping bugs off, and purifying a body with smoke of fragrant wood. There must be an effect of inducement of meditation as well.

In Taoism of China, smoke of incense sticks is very important. People offer them about 30cm long in increments of three without fail. Temples in China are all cloudy with smoke of incense sticks. At Senso-ji Temple(浅草寺)in Japan visitors put on the smoke, too, which scene has often been broadcast on TV.

I think this customs has been influenced by Taoism. Taoism turned out many great psychics in its establishing process. I feel it is because the fundamental idea of Taoism stands to reason of the World of Gods.

  • turn out A Aを輩出する

According to my spiritual reading, the World of Spirits didn’t exist at the beginning of the human race. There were only two dimensions —the World of Gods and the World of Reality. Gods and creatures, such as humans and animals etc, communicated with each other one on one. When humans died, they returned directly to the World of Gods.

  • according to A Aによると

  • the human race 人類

  • each other お互い
  • one on one 一対一で
  • return 戻る
  • directly 直接

Although going back and forth between the World of Gods and the World of Reality was repeated, in the course of time humans came to have selfish desires and it got difficult gradually for them to communicate with Gods. Humans came to be unable to go straight back to the World of Gods and they got to stay between the World of Gods and the World of Reality. And this space between the two turned into  the World of Spirits later.

  • go back and forth 往復する
  • in the course of time やがて

In the time immemorial, when only the two worlds existed, it was “water” which mediated the two dimensions. When humans wanted to offer something to gods, they would put it into the river. This practice became the origin of various customs of the future.

  • the time immemorial 太古の昔

And it is “smoke” which mediates between the World of Spirits and the World of Reality. It is because the appearance of a spiritual body is perceived as an aggregate of molecules (ectoplasm) like smoke in the World of Reality, and what is similar to a spiritual body in motion and form is smoke of fire. And smoke does have a spiritual influence. A spiritual body and smoke have an affinity to each other. Psychics of Taoism perceived this and enhanced spiritual manners.

I did spiritual readings about Taoism for the first time in the past few days. And as a result, now I understand well the reason why there was a sign from a deity that I should name this blog “Ise Hakusan Dou(伊勢白山道).”  Dou kyo (道教)and Shinto(神道)have relation to each other from ancient times.

a hint on enlightenment Taoism teaches

According to a teaching of Taoism, there are San-shin(三神), or three gods( =Sanshi-shin, 三尸神, and sometimes called Sanchu,三虫, or three warms) in a human body;Joshi-shin (上尸神) causing a disease of a head, Chushi-shin(中尸神)a chest, and Geshi-shin(下 尸神)the lower half of the body. It  is said that they go up to Heaven in the evening on Koshin(庚申),57th of the Oriental Zodiac and let on the Original God, or Polaris about the person.

There has been an idea in Taoism since the ancient times that there lives an inherent god in the human body and by Sonshi(存思), assuming gods in each parts of the body and meditate upon it, and ensconcing them, a human can live forever. In short, there are three gods in the three parts of the body, namely head, chest, and the lower half of the body, and by growing them well and making bigger, a human can live forever.

But, the purpose of Taoism is not only to live long. Its real intention is to live long in order to increase the likelihood of  attaining enlightenment. I think this is a profound thought. Because it is difficult to attain enlightenment during the limited time of life.

  • purpose 目的
  • intention 意図
  • in order to~ 〜するために

What is the enlightenment saints aspire to attain by living long? I feel the enlightenment is “to realize that we are kept alive and to be able to have gratitude for it.”

  • be able to~ 〜することができる

Hakuin(白隠),a Japanse zen priest in the Edo period, is said to have mistified people in those days by saying he obtained enlightenment countless times or that he did it more than 300 times in his life. His words represent the essence of enlightenment very well.

Enlightenment is like walking down a road. You go forward sometimes gaining the enlightenment and at other times going back to normal, and sometimes attaining the enlightenment and at other times feeling depressed.  Taoism says that it is the process of life of walking on the road, or Ta0,  that is the truth and reality of the universe. To walk on the road, obtaining enlightenment, distressing himself and having gratitude, is the only way to assimilate into the Original God nourishing everything in the universe.
